BI Analyst Engineer – Microsoft Fabric

💰 Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000

🌍 Remote (Must be based in Chicagoland or Milwaukee metro)

🕵️ About the Opportunity

We’re helping a high-growth, private equity-backed company confidentially hire an Analyst Engineer to join their cutting-edge data team. The department is only a few years old, making this a rare opportunity to have a strategic seat at the table and shape the future of analytics within the business.

You’ll report directly to a highly respected, people-first leader who’s known for mentoring and career-building. Your work will be high-impact and high-visibility, with regular interaction with C-suite leadership and PE stakeholders.

Two professionals we’ve placed here have independently called it “the best company I’ve ever worked for.” We think you’ll understand why once you’re in the door.

🎯 What You'll Do

  • Design and implement scalable analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI
  • Build and manage Lakehouses, Data Pipelines, and Notebooks via Synapse and Fabric tools
  • Translate business requirements into efficient data models and pipelines
  • Ingest structured and unstructured data using Dataflows Gen2
  • Ensure performance, reliability, and scalability of data systems
  • Partner with analysts, engineers, and data scientists to enable advanced analytics
  • Maintain data governance, privacy, and compliance standards

✅ Must-Have Requirements

  • Microsoft DP-600 Certification (or currently enrolled and on track to complete)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics, or BI
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric components (Power BI, Synapse, Data Factory, OneLake)
  • Strong skills in T-SQL, DAX, Python or PySpark, and ELT/ETL processes
  •  Experience with cloud-based data architecture (preferably Azure)
  •  Familiarity with DevOps practices, version control, and CI/CD pipelines

🎓 Bonus Skills (Not Required, but Awesome)

  • Additional Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate)
  • Experience with real-time analytics (KQL, Event Streams)
  • Background building enterprise-scale BI platforms
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

🌟 Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Strategic role in a growing, high-visibility department
  • Work directly with C-level and PE firm leadership
  • Supportive, growth-oriented leadership focused on mentorship
  • Collaborative culture and remote flexibility (Chicagoland or Milwaukee metro only)
  • Strong values around teamwork, honesty, continuous improvement, and respect
