Audit Associate
This role may be REMOTE!!! Our growing Financial Services practice is looking for an Audit Associate to join our team!
In this key role, you’ll leverage your in-depth knowledge of accounting and auditing to provide essential services for a diverse range of clients. You’ll be responsible for managing audits, accounting, and consulting, with opportunities to grow and develop in the areas of risk management, internal controls, and more.
Location: REMOTE
Compensation: $75,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead accounting and audit functions for Financial Services clients, ensuring timely and accurate completion of engagements.
- Review clients’ financial operations, focusing on accounting, compliance, and audit.
- Prepare and analyze quarterly journal entries, tax adjustments, and GAAP-based financial statements.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and investment assets, applying ASU 820 for valuation and disclosure.
- Oversee regulatory compliance functions, including Surprise Custody, SOX, SSAE 16, and Mock Compliance audits.
- Prepare management letters, tax-related journal entries, and financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Actively participate in training, development, and mentorship for junior staff, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Review and analyze quarterly and annual financial reports, incentive fees, and capital/income allocations for both tax and GAAP purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (MS in Accounting is a plus).
- 1+ years of public accounting experience specializing in fund accounting, particularly within Private Equity and Hedge Funds.
- CPA certification or progress towards it, including the required 150-credit coursework.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, PCAOB standards, and fund accounting practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ProSystems, CCH, and QuickBooks.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client relationship skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel locally as needed.
