About the Opportunity
An established, growth-oriented CPA firm—ranked among the Top 25 in its metro area and Top 200 nationally—is hiring an Audit Senior or Supervisor to join its expanding assurance team. The firm has a long-standing reputation for technical strength, employee retention, and close client relationships across privately held businesses and select specialized sectors.
With a steady influx of new clients and a track record of promoting from within, this is a compelling opportunity for an audit professional ready to take the next step in their career—without the bureaucracy or burnout often found in larger firms.
What You’ll Do
• Lead audits for privately held companies and employee benefit plans
• Manage fieldwork and serve as in-charge on engagements
• Supervise and review work of junior staff accountants
• Review financial statements for appropriate presentation and disclosure
• Assist with business tax filings that arise as part of audit engagements
• Prepare and review audit documentation, reconciliations, and special analyses
• Support long-term client relationships through high-touch service and communication
What Makes This Role Exciting
• Growth-fueled hiring: firm is expanding, not backfilling
• Steady promotions at all levels, including Partner
• No pressure to generate your own client base—partner path built on strength and trust
• Well-defined busy seasons—average of 55 hours/week, not 70+
• Flexible hybrid schedule with core hours and summer time-off perks
• Strong team culture with low turnover and long-term career potential
• High variety of work across industries and client types
• Clients value the firm’s independence—many are leaving larger merged firms for better service
About You
• 3+ years of public accounting experience (internships not included)
• Prior audit experience with private companies; employee benefit plan or nonprofit exposure is a plus
• Experience supervising or reviewing staff on engagements
• CPA eligible; actively pursuing CPA is a plus (firm provides Becker resources)
• Not a fit if experience is only in public companies, financial services, or highly specialized Big 4 work
• Excellent interpersonal, technical, and communication skills
• Interest in long-term growth within a stable, well-managed firm
Why Join Us
• No personal book of business required for promotion
• Clear growth path with regular advancement
• Flexible hybrid model, including condensed summer schedules
• No public clients, no government work, no financial services, no unions
• Consistent team-based environment with high retention
• Partners and managers are accessible, involved, and invested in your success
• Firm has never done layoffs and is committed to staying independent
